Naomi Campbell's fashion for relief show went down a treat in London. She used her star power to get her celeb mates to strut their stuff on the catwalk and for such a great cause - to raise money for The White Ribbon Alliance fund to promote safe childbirth.

Everyone look fantastic and of course Naomi did a couple of turns to show them all how it's really done!

Style Crush: Peter Pilotto Metallic Dress

It's not often that I profess my unyielding devotion to a scrap of fabric but this Peter Pilotto creation is the goddess dress of my dreams.

Vibrating Mascara - The Verdict

With the launch of any new beauty product from an international cosmetics brand there's bound to be a lot of hype. So it was no surprise that beauty editors from London to L.A were extolling the new vibrating mascaras from Estee Lauder and Lancome as you guessed it ...The Next Big Thing!

Well as a self confessed beauty junkie I was as intrigued as anyone else to get my hands on this so called miracle product. It would mean an end to fiddling with eyelash glue, make my lashes longer and sultrier and what's more it combined two of my favourite things gadgets and make up - so how could it fail to impress right?

Wrong! As the old saying goes if it seems too good to be true it is. I raced into the beauty hall at Harrods and had the lady at the Estee Lauder counter try the "Turbolash All efects Motion Mascara" out on my bare lashes. And.... well I'm not going to sugar coat it it was fine. Ok a bit better than fine it was good but not great. The vibrating efect isn't very dramatic in fact I couldn't feel any pulsating on my actual lashes just n the bast of the mascara wand. My lashes did look fluttery but the effect was more spindly and thin that thick and luscious. So i think I'll be sticking to my trusty Zoom lash by Mac.

Shop Crush: Ted Baker

Growing up I associted Ted Baker with over priced clothes that just weren't worth it. They tended to stock smart office basics - black skirts, white shirts, black jackets - and the odd wannabe it accesory such as a black bag on a silver chain that was so trying to pass for Chanel but looked cheap. So let's just say I didn't step into their stores very often. But over the last two years they've realy stepped up their style game and are now one of the hottest names on the high street.
Their stuff is young, super stylish and ticks all the right boxes. And they're stocked in Selfridges among other places and even have a store on trendy South Molton street. So Ted Baker we at Style Bazaar have fallen hard for you. Here's an edit of the best from their latest collection.

Fit Flops - The Lowdown

Now I'm all for the easy way out when it comes to excercising, toning up, getting trim , and acquiring buns of steel. But I've got to say I think fit flops must be the most useless fitness related invention ever.

The blurb on their websites says:

At FitFlop, our goal is to create the world's most efficient dual-use fashion/fitness products.

Ok newsflash they are not remotely fashion friendly. They come in a variety of styles and I'm not exaggerating when I say they're all hideous. The gladiator inspired "Aurelia" is the worst of the bunch. With it's chunky base and fussy foam and string leg shield thingy it's not gonna scoring any points against stylish and comfortable footwear such as the ever reliable ballet flat. Chanel do the best ones but Topshop, Zara, and Portobello market have also got great versions.
And you really can't beat Havaianas for that laid back casual summer vibe. Pair with a floaty white dress and you're good to go.
Ok so that's the style bit covered if you want to get fit through your footwear just wear stilletos all day every day and you'll have legs to rival Charlize Theron. I'm serious. I've been doing what I like to call the stilleto boot camp for a month and not only do I walk better and look and feel mor confident. My thighs have never look shapelier. Eat your heart out Eva Mendes.

Fantasy Shopping

On a shopping trip last weekend I got to thinking about shopping and about really how it's all about fantasy and no I'm not talking about the sexy kind more the stylish kind. A bit like when you see those perfectly turned out women in the street, bus or tube whose skirts never wrinkle, their shirts remain that pristine just out of the shop white even at the end of a long day when you are looking like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards. Well I've always wanted to be that woman. For me the ultimate compliment would be to be described as polished, glossy, chic, or well put together. I think because I am the complete opposite of this think haphazard, relaxed and casual. But this is where the shopping bit comes in I realised that that could all change with my next purchase the right skirt could transform me from schlumpy to slender. A figure fixing pair of flares could take me legs from short and stumpy to lean and toned. So the next time I'm tempted to choose the safe black ballet pumps over a pair of heels I'll definitely think twice!

SATC THE MOVIE: STYLE LESSONS LEARNED

So SATC the movie has finally arrived!!! And it did not disappoint. I laughed, cried when Big jilted Carrie and cried some more during the New Year's eve montage. The fashion was fabulous as usual. Noteworthy items were Carrie's Dior shoes, studded Burberry belt which the cast and crew nicknamed Roger v. cute! that made an appearance in almost every scene of the movie and the cream Nina Ricci dress worn by Carrie when she goes back to her and Big's dream apartment to collect her gorgeous blue Manolo's.

The style lessons I'll be taking away from the film for this summer are:

SEXY UGLY: Pretty soft dresses look amazing with hard edgy shoes a la Carrie's green floaral dress toughened up with Dior shoes and a black studded belt. The same thing was done with her cream Nina Ricci dress, which was given attitude with a cream bomber jacket with a leather trim.

BIG IS HOT! BIGGER IS HOTTER: Big clutches are amazing for pulling together a look especially during the day. First of all it's unexpected, and it just makes an outfit that much more subversive preferably in a patent pink or yellow it is all about statement dressing after all!


So...if you only get three things to update your wardrobe this summer invest in a great pair of tough looking high heels that can glam up daywear and are versatile enough to wear in the evening. But avoid anything that says girly like dimante sparkles or bows.

LEATHER: A fitted leather bomber jacket in black or brown again to throw over cutesy floral dresses.

OOh and another cute look not from the film but from some very stylish girls I've seen walking the streets of London recently a looses mini dress or skater skirt with a vest tucked in cinched with a thin belt teamed with footless sheerish tights and a snug oversized cardigan the same length as the skirt or dress. It just looks so snug and cute. So there you have it!
